Digital therapeutics (DTx) developer Jogo Health is partnering with Mayo Clinic to investigate and develop treatments for various tremors.
Jogo's CEO Sanjai Murali said the confluence of the company's expertise in electromyography biofeedback modality and Mayo Clinic's specialisation in tremors "has the potential to help millions of patients who do not have effective treatment options."
The 'know-how' agreement will focus on researching and treating Parkinson's tremors, functional tremors, and essential tremors using AI-driven DTx. The one-year collaborative study will include patients with functional tremors that are difficult to treat due to the need for specialised therapy rather than medication.
Jogo, which secured $5.5 million in funding last month, uses wearable sensors and an AI-driven app to treat chronic pain and movement disorders linked to neurological conditions via telemedicine. According to the company, its JOGO-Gx DTx, built with AI and wearables, has shown early success in treating Parkinson's disease.
Last year, the firm received an FDA breakthrough designation for its chronic lower back pain product, JOGO-CLBP.
